In March 1920, he became the manager of the Shanghai branch of the Continental Bank. During his tenure, the Shanghai branch set up a wide range of subordinate institutions, built a six-story warehouse on Xizang Road in 1921, opened a savings business in 1923, established a foreign exchange business in 1927, and leased land to Hartung in 1930 to build a mainland shopping mall, which greatly enhanced the reputation of the mainland bank. During this period, Ye served as an executive member of the Shanghai General Chamber of Commerce and participated in the initiation of the organization of the Shanghai Chamber of Commerce. In 1927, he became a director of the Shanghai Chinese Commercial Stock Exchange. In May 1934, he became a shareholder of China Construction Bank Corporation. After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, Ye served as the chairman of the Association of Banks. After the outbreak of the Pacific War, the Japanese army reorganized China and the two lines of transportation, and Ye was the director of the two lines of China. In 1943, he served as a member of the Wang Puppet National Financial Advisory Committee, and in March, he was appointed as a director and chairman of the National Commercial Control Association. In April 1943, he became a counsellor of the pseudo-Central Reserve Bank, and later chairman of the board of supervisors. In July of the same year, he served as the chairman of China National Goods Bank, the executive director of China Commercial Bank, the director of New Asia Science Co., Ltd., the executive supervisor of Global Enterprise Corporation, the director of Jiu'an Industrial Company and Mainland Bank, Lianhua Real Estate Company, the chairman of Li Chang Dyeing and Weaving Factory, and the supervisor of Dayuan Bank. In 1944, he became the manager of the head office of the Mainland Bank, and in 1945, he was appointed as a member of the Shanghai Municipal Advisory Committee. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, he went to Hong Kong.
